The following is a press release from Sony: STAMFORD, Conn. & MUMBAI, India, January 13, 2021 WWE Superstar Spectacle, an unprecedented two-hour television special event for India starring WWE's Indian superstars with Superstars and Legends from Raw, SmackDown, and NXT, will premiere on Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) on India's Republic Day. WWE Superstar Spectacle, a special production for Indian consumers, will show exclusively on Sony Ten 1, Sony Ten 3, and Sony MAX channels on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 8 p.m. IST, featuring commentary in both English and Hindi. Rey Mysterio, AJ Styles, The New Day, Shinsuke Nakamura, Cesaro, Dolph Ziggler, Robert Roode, Ricochet, and many others have been confirmed to come. Zanjeer idolized The Rock, Triple H, and Stephanie McMahon, according to Cole. What an idoloclastic holy trinity. Ricochet was pressed to the floor by the Zanjeer troops, and Cesaro knocked him unconscious before Shanky unleashed a huge boot. Mysterio then won the match with a 619 and a splash off Shanky's shoulders.
At the event, five matches were played. The Bollywood Boyz (Samir Singh and Sunil Singh) and the returning Jinder Mahal were beaten in the main event by WWE Champion Drew McIntyre and The Indus Sher (Rinku and Saurav). Wwe Superstar Spectacle Matches Results
* A video of The Great Khali wishing everyone a Happy Republic Day aired, including the former World Heavyweight Champion. Bayley and Natalya were defeated by Sareena Sandhu and WWE Womens Tag Team Champion Charlotte Flair. Sandhu trained with one of Bayley's initial trainers, according to the commentary. Sandhu didn't have the same level of experience as the other Indian wrestlers, but she managed to pin Natalya when Flair hit Natalya with Natural Selection while Sandhu had the Sharpshooter on her. Sandhu was expected to win by a large margin. After the bout, Charlotte and Sandhu did the Flair strut.
As he regained his footing, Ramas strength overpowered Styles and he connected with a throw. Styles was set up on the top rope by Rama for a final toss, but Omos grabbed his tights and saved him from certain doom. Styles then sprang from the top rope and connected with the incredible forearm for the pin and victory. — The Street Profits and The New Day (Xavier Woods and Big E) welcomed Indian dance company Spinning Canvas, who performed a song and dance routine in the ring.
411mania's Ian Hamilton gave Superstar Spectacle a 7.2 out of 10 rating, saying of the Indian performers that "for a group of guys effectively trained from scratch, this wasn't half terrible," and suggesting that the show was a potential step towards a future "NXT India" (following the example of NXT UK).

Just from looking at the card, it appears to be a really entertaining concert. It was a card with as many major stars as a B-level PPV like Backlash. In the first match, NXT Champion Finn Balor defeated Guru Raaj in a non-title match. Raaj was WWE's first Indian High Flyer. The second match had Great Khali disciples Dilsher Shanky and Giant Zanjeer teaming up with Rey Mysterio and Ricochet to defeat Cesaro, Dolph Ziggler, King Corbin, and Shinsuke Nakamura in an eight-man tag match. Jeet Rama has been with WWE for five years and recently had his first non-house show battle against AJ Styles, which he lost. On the program, Charlotte Flair teamed up with Sareena Sandhu to defeat Bayley and Natalya in a women's tag team match. Except for the opener, the main event is the most intriguing match on the card.
Wwe Superstar Spectacle Match Card
Rama took command early on, working Styles on the mat for several minutes. By throwing Rama to the outside and connecting with a forearm, Styles established an edge for himself. Styles had complete control in the middle of the ring after a commercial. Rama used a trio of suplexes to get the better of Styles. With a rope grab, Styles broke up the pin that followed. Styles used a boot to create some separation, allowing him to climb to the top rope. Rama confronted Styles at the top, only to tumble after Styles yanked his legs out from under him. Styles was down two after a backbreaker. Styles then imprisoned Rama in the calf crusher, which Rama eventually broke by pushing Styles into the mat.
From January 26, 2021, Superstar Spectacle will be available on WWE Network. It will air on Sony Network Channels Sony Ten 1, Sony Ten 3, and Sony Max in India. After the tapings on January 22, we'll post spoilers from the event, as well as updates on the coverage when it airs on January 26.
Rhea Ripley & Liv Morgan vs. Natalya and Shayna Bazler: Women's Tag Team Championship — Queen Zelina & Carmella (c) vs. Naomi & Sasha Banks vs. Rhea Ripley & Liv Morgan vs. Rhea Ripley & Liv Morgan vs. Natalya and Shayna Bazler: This contest didn't have much of a build-up. Banks returns to SmackDown and won a one-on-one bout against Shotzi. Naomi and Banks announced after the bout that they would fight Zelina and Carmella for the belts at WrestleMania. After defeating the champs in a non-title contest on Raw, Ripley and Morgan were added to the match. After Natalya and Shayna Bazler interfered in a tag team match on SmackDown, destroying competitors Naomi, Banks, Ripley, and Morgan, Sonya Deville added Natalya and Shayna Bazler to the mix. Pat McAfee vs. Austin Theory: Despite speculations that McAfee will confront Vince McMahon, the slot at WrestleMania will go to McMahon's on-screen apprentice. After McAfee confirmed his attendance at the event when Vince McMahon spoke on his radio show, Theory will try to create a show of McAfee's main roster debut. After taking Theory under his wing, McMahon is hoping to make a major impression as he squares off against the event's commentator.

Even for the most forgiving WWE fans (including your writer), positives are becoming increasingly harder to come by under the present management direction. The silver linings, though, haven't fully vanished from the landscape, no matter how pale they appear. Despite the system's numerous problems, WWE managed to provide at least one entertaining contest for their Peacock subscribers at each of this year's PPVs...*ahem*...'Premium Live Events.' With WWE Day 1 and the Royal Rumble behind us and the Road to WrestleMania in full swing, here's a look at the matches that kept our WWE subscriptions alive in 2021.
On Superstar Spectacle, AJ Styles hit a powerful boot and pulled Rama to the top rope before dropping him on the turnbuckles. AJ landed the calf-crusher, and Rama clung to it for a long time before counterattack. AJ went for the damaged leg, but received a belly-to-belly suplex in the process. Before AJ hit the Phenomenal Forearm for the win, Omos jumped in and saved him from a top rope maneuver.
